Editors sought: Australian Historical Studies Journal

Call for Expressions of Interest: Editor(s), AUSTRALIAN HISTORICAL STUDIES
The Board of Australian Historical Studies is seeking expressions of interest to edit the journal for a 3-year term, 2021–23. The publishing schedules require issues be worked on well before they go to press, so the volumes for which the new editors will be responsible will be dated 2022–24. An individual, or editorial team, can apply for the editorship.
Australian Historical Studies is a Q1 refereed journal publishing original and previously unpublished articles. Recognised since 1940 as Australia’s leading journal of Australian history, it is published four times a year and deals with all aspects of the history of Australia including its global context.
The current editors, Professor Lisa Ford and Associate Professor David A. Roberts, complete their terms at the end of 2020.
The journal is published by the Taylor and Francis/Informa Group, which handles subscriptions, production and distribution. All submissions are made through an online manuscript central site, ScholarOne.
A part-time Administrative and Editorial Assistant, based at the University of Melbourne, supports the journal and its editors. The current editors will be present to handover the journal and provide guidance, support and mentorship to the new editors in their first twelve months in the job.
Those interested in the position should indicate their relevant experience, the skills they would bring to the role and their ideas for the future development of the journal. The Board wishes to appoint the new editor(s) before the end of the year, so expressions of interest should be received by 31 July 2020.
All enquiries and submissions should be directed by 31 July 2020 to the Chair of the Board, Professor Katie Holmes, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, La Trobe University, by email K.Holmes@latrobe.edu.au
If you wish to discuss the position prior to application, please email Professor Holmes directly to arrange.
