Di (Jennie) Zhang is currently studying a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at The University of Western Australia (UWA), with Chinese and English as her teaching areas.
Originally from Wuhan, China, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Translation in China before studying teaching at UWA. Along the way, she has worked in the education industry in both China and Australia. Her experience working in Early Childhood Education and Care in Sydney has profoundly shaped who she is today, both personally and as a future secondary teacher.
Looking ahead, she is passionate about becoming a secondary teacher and hopes to inspire young people to learn not only another language, but also the culture, perspectives, and people behind it.
She is genuinely grateful to have been selected for the 2026 Stephen FitzGerald Scholars Program and looks forward to meeting people from different fields and bringing what she learns from this experience into her future teaching.
