Hailing from Hong Kong, Sabrina Lerskiatiphanich is a Master of Environmental Management student at The University of Queensland. Despite its size, thousands of species call Hong Kong home, with internationally protected wetlands also found in the small city. Similarly, Australia hosts hundreds of thousands of species, with some of the highest rates of endemism in the world.

Now Brisbane-based, Sabrina sees parallels between the subtropical landscapes of Hong Kong and Brisbane, and is interested in how Hong Kong's experience of managing biodiversity within a dense urban environment and Australia's approach to large-scale conservation may inform each other.
