Driven by a deep passion to understand, connect with, and support people, I enrolled in the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) program at University of Tasmania. This journey has deepened my commitment to advocating for marginalised groups and has equipped me with the tools to make a lasting impact as a social worker. This year, as I prepare to graduate, I realise that my academic journey is just beginning. As an emerging social worker, I understand that helping individuals is only one part of the solution. If we do not challenge and address the systemic constraints that perpetuate inequality and oppression, our efforts to support those in need remain incomplete. Social work is about more than just addressing immediate needs; it is about advocating for broader social change. With this understanding, I am excited to take the next step in my journey by pursuing a PhD. My goal is to not only deepen my understanding of social systems but also to drive meaningful change within them, ensuring that my work as a social worker and researcher positively impacts both individuals and the broader society.
