Yu-Yong (Jodie) Zhou is currently undertaking a Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) at Charles Darwin University in Darwin, Australia. Originally from Taiwan, she has a background in nutrition and previously worked as a registered dietitian before transitioning into education. Her professional experience in Australia has included working in early childhood and school-age care settings, where she has developed a strong interest in supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and inclusion.

Through her teaching studies and professional experiences, she has become particularly interested in the relationship between education, culture, and community. She hopes to build a career as an early childhood teacher and contribute to creating inclusive learning environments where children from diverse backgrounds feel a strong sense of belonging.

As a Stephen FitzGerald Scholar, Yu-Yong (Jodie) looks forward to expanding her perspectives, learning from people with diverse experiences, and connecting with other emerging leaders. She hopes to bring her cross-cultural experiences and perspective to the program while continuing to develop the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to contribute meaningfully to education and the wider community.
