The ANU Australian Studies Institute (AuSI) is pleased to welcome Dr Nathan Fioritti to the 2025 Visiting Fellowship Program.

Dr Nathan Fioritti is an environmental politics scholar whose research focuses primarily on political parties’ environmental and climate agendas, however, his broader interests span globalisation and trade, international political economy, media framing, political campaigns, political polarisation and political systems.

During his time at The Australian National University (ANU), Nathan plans to work on a project with Professors Christian Downie and Darren Halpin on the public climate statements made by Australia's top emitters. This project is examining the question of whether corporate statements about climate science and policy have changed over time – both in terms of the positions they take and the level of attention they receive.

“This fellowship will provide a shot in the arm for our project on the public climate statements of Australia's top emitters. The time, space and proximity to my collaborators that it offers will not only progress the project but extend its scope, enhancing our research contribution beyond what was initially planned.”
