UNSW

My name is Huiye (Helen) Yu, I'm from Hangzhou, China. I am a self-motivated distinction average final year Master of Engineering student (Electrical) at UNSW Sydney. I'm passionate about the energy industry and power systems. My strong interest in the future electric power system has led me to diverse experiences. Prior to my postgraduate study, I completed a 6-month internship at Vestas Wind Technology as a quality intern. During my study at UNSW, I was fortunate to participate in two partnered projects with EY and ABB, where I collaborated with an interdisciplinary team to research and collect data, and then propose innovative solutions and prototypes. I worked part-time at the university library as a library peer mentor, we offer drop-in consultation for academic support and help create a strong student community. Recently, I started an internship as a student electrical engineer at Aurecon. I helped engineers with their designs and added value to projects in the energy industry. In my spare time, I'm an active UNSW Women in Engineering Society member, where we organise events to engage with fellow female-identified engineering students.
