Yunrui Gu is currently a Master of Public Health (Research) student at Monash University. Her current research focuses on the association between resting heart rate and dementia in older adults. She holds a clinical medicine degree from China and previously worked as an intern doctor in hospital settings for one and a half years. With a strong interest in bridging clinical knowledge with public health practice, Yunrui is passionate about applying epidemiological methods to improve healthy ageing outcomes. In the future, she plans to pursue a PhD in epidemiology, focusing on the interplay between diseases and their risk factors to inform effective prevention. She strongly believes that prevention is fundamentally more powerful than treatment in improving long-term health outcomes.
