Xinyi (Stacy) Yao is a student at UNSW Sydney with a strong interest in contemporary art, cultural exchange, and cross-cultural communication. Alongside her studies, she has gained professional experience in gallery and exhibition settings and currently works at Scieppan Gallery in Sydney, where she is involved in supporting exhibitions and engaging with artists and audiences.
Her academic and professional experiences have developed her interest in how art, culture, and education can create connections between people from different backgrounds. As a Chinese student studying and working in Australia, Xinyi (Stacy) is particularly interested in strengthening her understanding of Australian society and exploring opportunities for meaningful exchange between Australia and China.
Looking ahead, she hopes to build a career that combines her international perspective, communication skills, and experience in the arts and education sectors. Through the Stephen FitzGerald Scholars Program, she looks forward to learning more about Australian institutions, exchanging perspectives with fellow scholars and professionals, and developing a deeper understanding of Australia–China relations.
