My name is Haonan Li, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Applied Econometrics and a Master of Advanced Finance at Monash University in Australia. I grew up in Beijing and completed my undergraduate studies in the United States with a joint major in Economics and Mathematics. After graduation, I worked as an investment banking analyst in China for two years, focusing on equity financing and M&As for pharmaceutical companies.
Realizing the gaps in my understanding of the links between macroeconomics and capital markets, the differences across financial systems, and the use of digital and quantitative tools in finance, I decided to return to study. My current program has helped me develop a more integrated view of global finance.
Looking ahead, I am committed to building a career in investment banking, with a focus on cross-border transactions. I believe in the power of a more connected global capital market to create long-term value for a broad set of stakeholders. I aim to structure deals that are not only financially and legally sound but also culturally aware and respectful.
