Hello! I’m Sharon, a final-year Master of Social Work student at the University of the Sunshine Coast. I began my career after completing a Bachelor of Social Work in Hong Kong, where I worked for five years supporting individuals and families affected by substance use. This experience shaped my deep commitment to social justice and strengthened my skills in advocacy, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care.
Since moving to Australia, I have developed a strong interest in the healthcare system and the role of social work in supporting people to navigate it with dignity. Currently, I work as a social work cadet in a mental health ward, where I assist patients in accessing services, understanding their rights, and rebuilding connections with community supports.
Originally from Hong Kong, I bring a bilingual and bicultural lens to my practice. My long-term goal is to contribute to more integrated, person-centred models of care across healthcare and social service sectors.
