Jingyi Zhang 张靖怡

I am currently doing a Master of Contemporary Chinese Studies at the University of Melbourne. I completed my undergraduate degree in Journalism and Communication, and my academic interests lie at the intersection of media and politics in contemporary China. With a background in communication, I have always been interested in how information is produced, framed, and circulated—especially by state actors. My current research focuses on political communication in China, including how the state uses media to shape narratives about governance, legitimacy, and national image, both domestically and internationally. I am particularly drawn to topics such as digital propaganda, anti-corruption discourse, and the global projection of China through strategic media campaigns.
