I am a final-year Laboratory Medicine student at the University of South Australia (UniSA). Originally from Guangdong China, I was inspired to pursue studies in Australia by the late Dr. Jian Zhou’s story of co-inventing HPV vaccines with Prof. Ian Fraser. Through the world-class education at UniSA, I have gained a solid foundation and practical skills in clinical pathology. In particular, my interests lie in haematology, immunology, and virology, which are exciting disciplines that have progressed rapidly. With hard work and strong motivation, I have excelled in my coursework and have received Chancellor's Letters of Commendation for three consecutive years and a Vacation Research Scholarship. In addition, I have been awarded two conference grants from professional societies - Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS) and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA), to attend their meetings. Since arriving in Australia, I have developed a deep affection for Australian values and the diverse multicultural society. Above all else, I admire the spirit of mateship and equality that is ingrained within in Australian culture. Upon graduation later this year, my goal is to become a medical laboratory scientist and contribute to the Australian society alongside other Chinese Australians.
